A long time resident of Nashville, Dr. Edwards grew up in Kentucky and earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Western Kentucky University with a double major in chemistry and biology. After completing medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, he served as Battle Group Surgeon in the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea and subsequently became a consultant to the U.S. Army and the Nashville Veterans Administration Hospital.
