Born and raised in India, Dr. Satpathy received his Medical Degree from Utkal University in Orissa, India. He completed both his internship and residency in surgery at medical institutions in India, but moved to Washington, D.C. in 1971 to complete additional surgical training at Providence Hospital. In 1973, Dr. Satpathy started his residency in urology at Howard University Hospital, also in Washington, D.C.
Upon completed his residency, Dr. Satpathy remained at Howard University as Medical Officer and Assistant Professor in Urology. He relocated to Tennessee in 1979 and joined Urology Associates.
Dr. Satpathy and his wife have three children; he enjoys playing tennis and watching football.
