Meet Brooke

Brooke Faught is a board-certified, women’s-health nurse practitioner with specialty training in female sexual and pelvic floor medicine, urology, and vulvoscopy. She earned her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University, her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Pennsylvania, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Vanderbilt University where she studied social boundaries in young-adult females with Down Syndrome as a foundation for sexuality education.

In 2005, Brooke Faught developed and implemented the Women’s Institute for Sexual Health (WISH) as a division of Urology Associates in Nashville, Tennessee. She currently functions as the Director of WISH. She has been a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) since 2005. In 2012, she gained designation as a Fellow of ISSWSH and she currently serves as Secretary on the ISSWSH Executive Board of Directors. She also served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) from 2012 to 2017 including two years as Treasurer on the Executive Committee. Brooke maintains an adjunct faculty position at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She also serves as faculty and a planning committee member for the annual NPWH/ISSWSH Sexual Health and Vulvoscopy Course for Nurse Practitioners.

Brooke is widely published in the field of women’s sexual and pelvic health and she is involved in various areas of research.

She regularly lectures to local, national, and international audiences and she is frequently invited to provide her expert opinion to various media outlets. In June of 2015, Dr. Faught lobbied congressman and representatives on Capitol Hill prior to testifying at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hearing on flibanserin, the first-ever FDA-approved medication for Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder (HSDD). Professional awards include the William Oxley Thompson Award for early career achievement and Alumni Transformers in Nursing and Healthcare through the Ohio State University Alumni Association, the Recent Alumni Award for Clinical Excellence from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, the Nashville Business Journal (NBJ) 40 Under 40 award and the NBJ Women of Influence Award. She has been a practicing Nurse Practitioner since 2003 and the Clinical Director of the Women’s Institute for Sexual Health (WISH) since 2005.

In her spare time, Brooke enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Jonathan, her three daughters, Clara, Lily, and Elle, and her big, spoiled dog, Willie. She enjoys traveling the globe, yoga, running, and pretty much anything that involves adrenaline. She is also very involved in the special needs community.
